I was fortunate enough to have had one of my stories selected by a BBC radio station in the UK for broadcast. The narration of 'Are you Listening?' and the interview that followed it provided me with a tremendous opportunity to raise awareness about the theme of sustainability, which I am passionate about. It was also wonderful exposure for my work as the program was broadcast to thousands of BBC listeners in the UK. You can listen to the reading of the book "Are You Listening?" as well as the interview that follows it using the player below.
So much has been said about the 'diversity gap' in children's books, about how changes are needed at every level if diverse books are to ever reach audiences.More than ever before, parents are hungry for books that provide diverse role models and mirror the true heterogeneity of our world. In today's polarizing socio-political climate, the need for books that feature diverse perspectives, empathy and inclusive worldviews are greater than ever before. In fact, inclusive representation in children's books has the power to build bridges and be a unifying force in the world. - and if not now, then when?
